it is done...
hello!
i've been a bit quiet these past few months, pretty much since getting back from the summer road trip that i took with mai (speaking of which, i don't think i ever finished the last few days worth of email travelogues, sorry about that). things took a pretty big turn for us the week after we got home and it threw me off kilter for a bit. add on the stress of a very difficult semester at school, it just sort of kept me a bit quiet on the email front. read more...

life in seattle, take 2
hello all!
so here i am in seattle, and i'm no longer living alone. :)
mai has officially moved in, thus bringing to a close the era of our long distance relationship. it was a good 4 year, 6 month run, but it was long over due for a change, even if it did change a few months before we thought it was going to. read more...

9 down, 1 to go!
hello all!
well, i have somehow managed to survive yet another semester at school without going crazy or failing anything (which has seemed harder and harder to do each semester i'm here). this last one was particularly easy compared to the previous two, though that was somewhat by design (i only had 3 classes as opposed to 5 or 6). read more...

what? it's summer?!? why didn't anyone tell me!!
hello!!
just when you thought i couldn't be any more of a slacker, i give you my spring semester round-up six weeks after spring semester ended. woot!!
spring semester is over and boy was it rough. i started it out being behind in everything and had 5 classes to boot (which was 17 or 18 credit hours - game project, quaternions, animation, robotic learning and dynamic sound synthesis). by midterms, i had dropped 2 classes (quaternions and robotic learning) and still felt behind and overwhelmed by it all. somehow i managed to not fail anything, but there was great doubt through most of the semester. read more...

happy new year!
hello! ok, yeah, i know... i'm a little late with the new year's greeting... deal with it. :)
in our last episode, me and mai had gotten lost trying to find mt. rainier. instead of trying to use the mt. rainier web site as our guide to get there, i pulled out my trusty rand-mcnally road atlas and we made it without fail. wow! what a mountain. we did a 7 mile hike up to see the glacier and even though it was a bit more than we were ready for, it was a great hike and a great view. read more...
